Trainer

Josh Weaver

Josh has an Associate in Applied Science in Automotive Technology. The program was backed by Chrysler and General Motors, and while in college he worked for a Ford dealership, which allowed him to learn all three domestic brands. After college, he went on to work at a Kia dealership, where he achieved his A.S.E and Kia Master Tech certifications. Josh is a certified Pennsylvania emissions and safety inspector, EPA 609 certified, and holds A.S.E. L1 and L3. He was the lead technician at the dealership, which allowed him to see some of the most difficult and challenging vehicle issues that came through the shop. This allowed Josh to hone his diagnostic skills, and teach his fellow technicians different approaches and diagnostic methods to solve problems.

After being in the dealership for many years, Josh became the service manager for a six-bay independent shop, which owns a six-bay body shop as well. Running a shop of this size allowed him to see many different drivability issues, along with a lot of electrical and programming issues on the body shop side. Throughout his career, Josh has always been driven to learn new techniques and grow into a better technician. He has traveled around the country to take all the training he could and learn better techniques from the best instructors and technicians in the country. He then came back and applied what he learned in the shop, teaching the staff of technicians to help them rise to the next level.

Josh’s passion for diagnostics led him to start his part-time mobile diagnostic business and also led him to develop and instruct some training classes for some of his local automotive chapters. Josh is constantly growing as a technician and improving his skills. He loves to see not just technicians, but all people grow and get better at whatever their goals or passion are. His goal is to help keep moving the industry forward and improving for the better, by helping technicians learn and grow.

Kenneth Zanders

Kenneth’s experience and education are both varied. The theoretical foundation includes automotive technology, business administration and engineering. His experience is concentrated mostly in the automotive repair field in a variety of capacities, including a three-year stint working as an engineering technician and teacher.

Having studied and instructed automotive technicians has enabled him to gain insights that make their way into course materials that complement the diagnostic process. They consist of a series of logical steps made in any diagnosis with a constant reinforcement of basic skills.

He has accumulated a wealth of information, details, and experience on the instruction of automotive repair technicians as related to the aftermarket repair industry, and tested methods that increase their competency, not only in class but in the field as well.

Pete Meier

Pete Meier has been in the automotive aftermarket for 50 years, starting as a service station attendant while in high school. He's earned ASE Master Automotive certification, has wrenched on just about everything that runs on gasoline, taught in both private and public vocational schools, trained technicians at regional and national events, and served as the technical editor for Motor Age magazine and later as the EBM Director of Digital Content.

During his tenure at Motor Age, he led the publication into the Internet age. He was the first to bring an industry trade publication to social media and created the Motor Age YouTube channel, leading it to earn more than 100,000 subscribers. He was also the first in the industry, in partnership with TST, to host live training webinars in a shop atmosphere, making online training as close to a hands-on experience as possible.

Today, he is the Training Manager for Dorman Products and is excited about the opportunity to bring even more resources to our industry's working men and women, to help them face the challenges of today's (and tomorrow's) technologies, and to continue his personal quest to advance the automotive service professional.
