About the Instructor

David Patrick is a Master Trainer at Dorman Training Center, bringing over 45 years of experience in the automotive industry. He holds the following ASE certifications: Master Auto Technician; F1, L1, L2, L3, L4 Advanced Level Specialist; xEV High Voltage Safety Levels 1 & 2; and Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician. In addition, he has factory certifications from GM and Ford, plus MACS certifications (MACS 609; MACS Proctor), demonstrating his commitment to excellence in auto repair.

Beginning his journey as an apprentice at age 13, David has worked as a dealer line tech, import specialty tech and ATR (all that rolls) shop tech. He also ran his own mobile diagnostics and programming service for 16 years. David is also an honorably discharged US Army veteran, having served as an engineer/paratrooper.

Driven to educate about all aspects of auto repair, some of David’s favorite topics to teach include driveability, electronics, hybrid/battery electric vehicles, and module programming.
