After myriad problems with the Navistar-sourced 6.0L and the subsequent 6.4L diesels powering light duty trucks, the 6.7L Ford engine package debuted in 2011. All vehicles powered with the engine at that time specified required maintenance. Today they still do, but many are moving into the stage of vehicle life where repair is also required.
